From Concept to Creation: The Story Behind Velo Fans
If you’ve been with me for a while, you know I don’t launch something unless it truly changes the game. Velo Fans are one of those projects that took months of trial, testing, and heart. I’ve gone through every kind of lash fan over the years, the perfect, the not-so-perfect, and the “why did I even order this” kind. So when I set out to create Velo Fans, my goal was simple: build a fan that moves as fast as you do.
The Story Behind the Design
I’ve spent years listening to artists, studying their habits, and watching the effort that goes into every set. The market is full of “fast” options that still take too many steps. So, I wanted to create something that truly matched how artists move.
The name Velo comes from “velocity”, speed with purpose. I wanted to take the best part of our Rapid Promade Fans, but re-engineer them so lash artists could skip one full motion. You know that moment after picking up a fan, when you have to place it down to readjust before dipping? That’s the second that Velo eliminates.
When I designed Velo Fans, I wanted to remove that small but time-consuming motion most artists don’t even think about anymore, the part where you have to pick up a fan from the strip, set it down to reposition, and then pick it up again before dipping (and don't even get me started on loose fans). It may seem minor, but over a full day of sets, it adds up to hours lost.
Velo Fans changes that.
The motion becomes: pick up, dip, and place.
That’s it.
Every fan is handcrafted to stay perfectly balanced from base to tip. They’re uniform, yes, but intentionally not symmetrical. That slight individuality gives each set a softer, more natural finish. It’s the small imperfections that make the work look truly customized, not mechanical.
What Makes Them Different
Velo Fans aren’t about doing more, they’re about doing less, better.
No fighting with sticky bases. No extra handling. No losing the perfect fan shape halfway through. Just smooth pickup, easy control, and flow.
And even though they’re handmade and premium in quality, each set still costs less than a single takeout lunch. Depending on the fan dimension you choose, a full lash set with Velo Fans runs anywhere from around $6 to $10 in product cost. That’s hundreds of fans ready to go, no waste, no struggle, just efficiency that makes sense for business.
